Austin secured the 9th spot in attracting residents aged 25 to 44

recent study from financial technology company SmartAsset, released this month, highlighted Austin as one of the prime destinations for millennials in 2022. This analysis revealed that a quarter of millennials relocated to different cities last year. The study evaluated cities based on the proportion of newly settled millennials within their populations.

In this ranking, Austin secured the 9th spot in attracting residents aged 25 to 44. The capital of Texas enticed 103,461 millennials, constituting 11% of the city’s total population. The study also noted that the median age in Austin aligns with this trend, standing at 34.7 years old.

Interestingly, Austin wasn't the sole Texas city in the Top 10. Killeen claimed the 8th spot for its allure to millennials, drawing in nearly 17,000 new residents, representing 11% of the city’s overall population. According to the study, Killeen boasts an even younger median age, clocking in at 30.4 years old.
