A new hospitality project planned east of Austin could bring additional growth and economic activity to the fast-growing city of Elgin. Developers are planning to build a hotel as the first phase of a larger commercial development known as Silo Ranch, a project that could transform the area along State Highway 95.

A Hotel to Anchor the Silo Ranch Development

The proposed hotel is part of a broader development initiative led by Cromwell Commercial Group. The hospitality project is expected to serve as the anchor for the larger Silo Ranch development, which is envisioned as a mixed-use commercial area with retail and service businesses.

Plans for the site include retail spaces, restaurants, medical offices, and other neighborhood services that could support both residents and travelers passing through the region. Early leasing information suggests the retail component could include more than 190,000 square feet of commercial space, designed for businesses such as coffee shops, fitness studios, grocery stores, and other everyday amenities.

While the hotel would likely be the first visible part of the project, additional phases could follow as the development grows.

A Strategic Location Along Highway 95

The Silo Ranch project is planned along State Highway 95, a key corridor connecting Elgin to the greater Austin region. The location places the development within commuting distance of major job centers while also providing access to surrounding communities.

City leaders recently approved annexation of roughly 45 acres of land tied to the project, which helps position the site for future commercial development. The property is part of a larger tract that developers have been planning for several years.

Although the land is still currently used for agricultural purposes, commercial development could begin once zoning changes and development plans move forward.
